[00:00:01] presents, The Nameless Temple, A Pyroborg Adventure, North East, North East from where
[00:00:42] you are is just the jungle. No, it's the path to the Nameless Temple from which no one ever
[00:00:49] returns but apparently they know they're bloodsucking monsters there. I mean that's
[00:00:56] the lore. Everybody's got a story. People say Dracula still lives in Drontylvania. Well, you
[00:01:02] know people are idiots, generally speaking. And? Recently found a new conspiracy theory
[00:01:11] that I'm intrigued by Black Knight Satellite. The belief there is an ancient alien satellite
[00:01:18] that NASA is hiding from us that has circled the Earth for 30,000 years. Their photo is
[00:01:23] from a spacewalk from 1990 something that according to NASA is just a sheet that the guy
[00:01:31] lost. Like it's a protective covering, a tarp that was on a piece of equipment that he accidentally
[00:01:36] let go and later they took picture of. Like that's Black Knight Satellite. Nope, nope, it's a tarp.
[00:01:44] Fun. I think people will believe anything. I love conspiracy theories. Let's go find this
[00:01:51] Nameless Temple that is clearly going to be a walk in the park. Double cross him, steal his ship,
[00:01:57] go get our Kraken Green at the painted chests or whatever. If you were curious there's a little
[00:02:05] more on the ship because it is... It's probably named in the book. It's labeled as, well it's not
[00:02:12] legendary, but the I of Chaos is an old restored galleon with an ivory skull aft castle.
[00:02:22] Oh Captain, can we get an aft castle? It's Davies flagship. His crew are veteran cutthroats and
[00:02:28] are deadly in a fight. However he can teach and experience pirates and players and parentheses
[00:02:35] to sail on board the chaos which is generally regarded as the power in these waters. The
[00:02:46] way I'm reading it is like the fucking ship to have in this game. Which is why we're going to take
[00:02:53] his treasure and steal a ship and maroon him. I wonder how many crew you need to pilot the thing
[00:03:02] though? It's massive. Yo ho! I mean, because there's three of us. Slimy Bill gotcha. Inferiors.
[00:03:09] There are three of you in this game. You probably have a small crew that came with you
[00:03:13] but there are three of you in this game. Meach yields. It's not huge, but three of you
[00:03:18] are going to find this temple. The sloop has an official size of how many people it will hold.
[00:03:22] It will hold ten. So we have between zero and seven crew. Well the sloop requires
[00:03:33] three to ten crew. Three to minimally operate it. Ten is the maximum size. Yeah. I wrote a
[00:03:42] four. You got a total of four total. There's one guy with you. One rando named Jim Bob. Just
[00:03:50] because. It's old swab and Steve. He's best mate to ever swab the decks. He's talking
[00:03:57] to Helga. Why he's talking to Helga? I don't know. Because he didn't want to come with
[00:04:02] us? Because the fourth person didn't come to the table today. That's why. Swab and
[00:04:06] Steve. We should probably go to some kind of general store or something. Yeah, you can
[00:04:14] get this in a workplace. Sure. Buy some muskets. Since we're traipsing through the jungle. Cape
[00:04:23] Town. There is a shanty town and marketplace full of drunk sailors and gritty merchants.
[00:04:29] This is where most of the recruiting, buying, selling and scheming on the island happens.
[00:04:35] Most items are under 40 silver, page 52 can be purchased here. What you be looking for,
[00:04:42] Captain? What you be looking for? I mean weapons. I don't know what you guys are equipped with
[00:04:53] weapon-wise or even equipment. I have a dinghy. I can sell my dinghy. You could do that. Okay.
[00:04:59] How much is a dinghy in this? 250 silver. Oh. The fuck you hold on this dinghy for?
[00:05:05] I didn't realize it until I opened the equipment page. It's probably hooked to the side of the
[00:05:09] sloop. I didn't realize until I got here that it was worth that kind of money. It's your
[00:05:13] escape route. I did not realize that. If I was that far in, we don't need an escape route.
[00:05:17] We're dead. His clothes were 250 silver. I dressed nicely. I'll give you 100 silver for it.
[00:05:25] No. Yeah, no. You can roll presents to try to negotiate with him if you'd like.
[00:05:36] I got it for free but I want more. That's not the full price obviously. Negotiate.
[00:05:43] 249. This is Cape Town eBay. Cove Town whatever it's called.
[00:05:49] 300 silver I say as I draw my cutlass. That's not worth 300 silver.
[00:05:54] Mine at two says otherwise. 100 silver. Give him one of those. Give him the finger.
[00:06:02] 101. Eat my sweaty pirate ass. 101 silver? I don't want it for 101 silver.
[00:06:14] It's worth 250. Not to mention it's a pilot. It's used. You know when you take it off a lot,
[00:06:21] you lose to have its value. Oh, go fuck yourself Lucas. You're not gonna get the full
[00:06:28] price out of it. Yeah but it's useful. I'll give you a 150 out of it. No, I walk away.
[00:06:36] I plan on using it later in the scenario perhaps. It's hooked to the...
[00:06:41] Unless you're dragging it with you which it's not, you probably can't because it's not a
[00:06:45] small item. It is hooked to the side of your shirt. When I fill it full of explosives and
[00:06:50] push it up against the I of Chaos and sink it in the bay. You're prerogative.
[00:06:56] What are you looking for? Grenades. Is that a range weapon?
[00:07:03] There's a whole section on bombs. Smoke bombs, improvised grenades, clay grenades, iron grenades,
[00:07:10] firepots, and stink balls. If you got the silver we're gonna just go with the books over.
[00:07:15] So if you want to buy things, you can buy things. Just remember throwing is probably under strength.
[00:07:21] Agility DR12. Oh it's agility you're correct.
[00:07:25] Should I have a plus in? Ranged weapons would be under presence. Obviously melee would be under
[00:07:32] strength. Ranged weapons are presents? Yeah presence is range weapons. It's the same for
[00:07:39] every game. Interesting. That's strange. I guess it's a focus thing.
[00:07:46] Maybe. I don't know why. You would think it would be agility because agility is like decks but
[00:07:50] it's always under presence for some reason. I'm going to definitely buy a grenade.
[00:07:57] Just one? They're very expensive Lucas. The ones I want. 20 silver. Huh?
[00:08:04] It's 20 silver you got seven. Why would I buy a D10 for 20 silver when for twice the price
[00:08:09] I can buy 3d6. Oh you want iron grenades? I mean statistically speaking I have more chances
[00:08:17] to roll bigger numbers that way. I don't know if that's what I want yet though. I've never
[00:08:22] really looked at this. I bought a grenade and some armor. What kind of armor? You
[00:08:31] may not. It is under 40. Surprise. Is it tier one? It's a conquisitor plate. Conquisitor
[00:08:39] is huge. Conquisitor plate is 200 silver. Don't look at that part. You don't have that
[00:08:46] amount of money. It says you. You said you had 70 silver. So what did you buy? That's
[00:08:53] my pocket change. Did you buy some leather? I had to take it out of the savings account.
[00:08:58] We're not going to be able to remodel the ship. Why'd you buy? I bought some hide
[00:09:01] armor. It could be in a dick. I am going to be a dick. You only have so much money.
[00:09:06] I have one hit point. Minusing d2 damage might be useful. How much you cybernize? What
[00:09:11] do you got? He's not even got a book to look at. What are you looking for? Are you looking
[00:09:18] for anything? Here you go. Since I'm not an asshole here, here's the list of things
[00:09:23] you could look at. Thank you. You have opened your phone. You have weapons. Yeah, I have
[00:09:28] a cutlass. Okay. I have a cutlass and a grenade and hide armor. What did you buy,
[00:09:32] sir? I bought hide armor and a boarding axe. Well done, Troy. I should have gotten the
[00:09:40] boarding axe originally but I had to buy it. It was off, Mike. I bought a flintlock pistol.
[00:09:45] Well done, ammo? Yes, of course. How much of it? One, like 20 shots. Okay, 120? 120 shots?
[00:09:55] Can you fan the hammer on a flintlock? Sure. It is. He loads it when it's rocks. It is dusk.
[00:10:04] They used to do that. Salt. Man, that would just rip into somebody. It really doesn't matter what it
[00:10:11] is as long as it's propelled at a high enough rate of speed. You shoot a pillow at a high enough
[00:10:16] rate of speed, it will penetrate flesh. It's like the tornado in the straw. This is an antique
[00:10:21] over here, bro. I shifted it quietly. Hand me the- Just for funsies, this is actually the island
[00:10:27] you're on. That does not look like a turtle. Nope. It's not turtles all the way down. I mean,
[00:10:34] it's right there. There's the temple right there. How do they keep getting lost? This is
[00:10:41] where you are. You're going that way. Okay, then let's look at the freaking Mount Doom thing
[00:10:46] over here. Maybe that's a- Just so you know, that is what the island looks like. The island
[00:10:54] is a little innocuous, to be honest. The map isn't really show stuff, but other than that thing
[00:11:02] up there and this, that by the way, up there is a lighthouse. Down here is the village. Other
[00:11:09] than that, everything else is kind of- So we're in the middle? Docs are right here. Okay.
[00:11:16] And we're going northeast. Yeah, okay. And if you're curious, the entirety of the-
[00:11:28] Well they call it dark Caribbean. There's multiple islands and things that you could go to
[00:11:33] if you want to continue playing pirate games. This is more fun visual. It's not necessarily
[00:11:41] accurate visual. It is dusk. It's starting to get dark of the
[00:11:52] jungle. Pretty much anything that's not off-white there, which would be sand,
[00:11:59] is jungle. Like the whole island is almost entirely jungle and grass. But northeast is
[00:12:04] the biggest, thickest portion of the jungle, which is where you're headed.
[00:12:08] Well I think since it's dusk, we should find an inn and sleep.
[00:12:15] If you would like to? Yeah, I'd like to not start our adventure in the jungle, in the dark.
[00:12:24] Maybe we can visit that place that our slimy compatriots wanted to go.
[00:12:28] I would say the green kraken might be the place that has- because there is no inn.
[00:12:33] Either the green kraken or you sleep at the treasure chest and have a little fun the night
[00:12:38] before. Up to you. You want to get your rocks off or you want to just take your socks off?
[00:12:50] Inn's 40 silver, the brothel's 15 so I'm going to go with the inn.
[00:12:54] We can sleep on our ship. That's also an option I suppose.
[00:13:00] It's a great option that doesn't cost any money. It's a free option if you want to
[00:13:04] sleep on your ship. Because I can use my last five silver on-
[00:13:07] It's not as comfortable as an actual bed.
[00:13:10] Or a night of, you know, frivolity.
[00:13:14] Yeah, I'm going character, I'm lazy. The inn's closer.
[00:13:17] He's lazy as fuck. He's paranoid as fuck and I don't know what you get.
[00:13:20] I ain't got enough money for either of those options so.
[00:13:23] Hang on, I don't even- what is your shi- I don't know what you rolled a bunch of stuff on
[00:13:26] tables that we rolled together. I don't know your shit.
[00:13:28] Well you never asked me.
[00:13:30] All right well tell me what it is.
[00:13:31] Well, since you must know I'm a sailor.
[00:13:35] Which is also what he is, go ahead.
[00:13:37] I am a cheater.
[00:13:39] That makes sense.
[00:13:40] I have many, many tattoos.
[00:13:44] Also, yeah.
[00:13:46] I always know the right way.
[00:13:49] That's what it says?
[00:13:50] I betrayed my former cruise.
[00:13:52] Of course you did.
[00:13:53] And I have a bottle of perfume oil.
[00:13:56] Great.
[00:13:57] Yeah.
[00:13:58] Cool.
[00:13:59] They may not be hunting me right now.
[00:14:00] You guys also want to tell the audience what you have?
[00:14:02] Just just now that Cody has?
[00:14:04] Nope.
[00:14:07] You don't have to.
[00:14:10] Just gives your characters some background and fun.
[00:14:13] My background was nobody.
[00:14:15] Yep.
[00:14:15] Which is fun.
[00:14:18] I'm also lazy.
[00:14:19] I have a gnarly facial scar.
[00:14:22] Apparently overly religious.
[00:14:25] As I've stated before, I stole the ship that we came in on.
[00:14:28] Yep.
[00:14:31] Yeah.
[00:14:32] Do you name the JBL or whatever it was?
[00:14:34] The John B.
[00:14:35] John...
[00:14:37] John B.
[00:14:38] B.
[00:14:39] Okay.
[00:14:40] My grandfather and me.
[00:14:43] It's clearly something I got at Google.
[00:14:44] I'm sorry.
[00:14:44] I don't know what I'm talking about.
[00:14:45] Dun, dun, dun, dun.
[00:14:46] What?
[00:14:46] What is it?
[00:14:47] Get some culture.
[00:14:48] It's a song.
[00:14:49] Wouldn't it be nice if we were older?
[00:14:54] Then we wouldn't have to wait so long.
[00:14:57] It's because you're just un-American.
[00:15:00] Yes.
[00:15:01] Very Russian.
[00:15:02] You communist piece of shit.
[00:15:04] He was born under a red star.
[00:15:08] I am as well since everybody else did.
[00:15:11] I am a sailor.
[00:15:13] I am paranoid.
[00:15:14] Yep.
[00:15:15] I am ugly.
[00:15:16] Very ugly.
[00:15:17] Smoke all the time, which is probably why I'm ugly.
[00:15:20] And love ones are captive.
[00:15:22] But what's your character do?
[00:15:24] Uh, I'm just kidding.
[00:15:26] But why male models?
[00:15:27] But why male models?
[00:15:29] You serious?
[00:15:29] I just told you.
[00:15:30] It's good money.
[00:15:37] So yeah, I'll be keeping an eye on the ship.
[00:15:41] Me and-
[00:15:41] You guys can sleep on the ship if you'd like.
[00:15:43] It's just-
[00:15:43] Me and Swab and Steve.
[00:15:48] You hear seagulls in the morning.
[00:15:53] It's on his risen.
[00:15:56] He is risen!
[00:15:59] So says the religious man.
[00:16:02] Who's he?
[00:16:04] Are you at the treasure chests?
[00:16:08] He is not, I am.
[00:16:10] What you doing Captain?
[00:16:12] Well I feel refreshed.
[00:16:17] Just saying, he could have got some.
[00:16:19] I did.
[00:16:19] Okay, that's fine.
[00:16:20] That's nice.
[00:16:21] There's only three of you.
[00:16:22] What happened last night?
[00:16:23] I slept.
[00:16:23] Hang on Alex.
[00:16:25] Describe for the listeners.
[00:16:29] He stayed at the end.
[00:16:30] I went to the brothel.
[00:16:31] He went to the ship because he had no money.
[00:16:33] Oh you okay.
[00:16:34] I didn't realize you-
[00:16:35] I didn't hear you say you went to the brothel.
[00:16:37] My apologies.
[00:16:37] I didn't tell you I was.
[00:16:40] It's your business.
[00:16:43] My point.
[00:16:45] You don't need to know.
[00:16:46] We're learning a lot about Alex today.
[00:16:53] If he had a choice, the brothel was up here.
[00:16:54] Oh wait a minute.
[00:16:59] For your life I wouldn't need the damn brothel.
[00:17:03] What are you shooting?
[00:17:06] Sometimes you just have to go.
[00:17:08] Should be nice to have a compass.
[00:17:12] Do you still have enough money?
[00:17:13] You can stop at the market.
[00:17:14] No.
[00:17:16] Compass is probably like 800 silver.
[00:17:17] It's 75.
[00:17:19] It's as much as we-
[00:17:20] one of us started with individually.
[00:17:24] A hot commodity.
[00:17:26] Oh slimy bill always knows the way.
[00:17:29] And I proceed to march off into the jungle.
[00:17:32] Do you have any more rum?
[00:17:34] Oh I cleaned it.
[00:17:38] At least I got to right with that.
[00:17:41] Hey he's the captain.
[00:17:42] He went off into the jungle on his own so-
[00:17:44] I always know the way.
[00:17:45] He said something about a compass.
[00:17:48] Do you have enough silver to buy a compass?
[00:17:49] No.
[00:17:49] Between you all?
[00:17:50] No.
[00:17:51] Okay.
[00:17:52] He has five.
[00:17:53] I have less than 20.
[00:17:54] And he probably doesn't have any after getting poon.
[00:17:56] I do need to ask is your-
[00:17:59] You know the way a legitimate thing or that's like a joke
[00:18:02] based on how the character is created?
[00:18:04] It is a legitimate thing.
[00:18:06] Okay so you know directionally where you're at just by memory.
[00:18:09] It says I always know the way.
[00:18:12] I just want to make sure that that's the case
[00:18:14] because I didn't read it.
[00:18:15] Right.
[00:18:16] Don't trust Cody-
[00:18:17] I don't trust Cody either because of the smile on his face.
[00:18:21] Says my character believes he always knows the way.
[00:18:23] Believes that's the difference.
[00:18:26] I always know the way.
[00:18:27] Right!
[00:18:28] That's how it always is in the board games.
[00:18:30] You always know-
[00:18:31] Which is why slimy bill blacks said ha ha
[00:18:34] follow me captain I always know the way.
[00:18:36] Because that's what he believes.
[00:18:37] Let him go die.
[00:18:38] Let him just go die.
[00:18:41] See?
[00:18:42] I know the way.
[00:18:43] I rolled an 11 out of 20 you know the way.
[00:18:46] Krabby Patties.
[00:18:47] Are headed into the jungle.
[00:18:50] It is-
[00:18:50] It becomes very thick, very dense.
[00:18:53] Cutlass.
[00:18:54] And actually pretty dark.
[00:18:55] You're probably using your cutlass to cut down vines as you go
[00:18:58] because you don't have a machete.
[00:19:01] I have a board in your axe.
[00:19:03] You make headway for what feels like ours
[00:19:08] before you come upon a tree that has some incredibly strangely
[00:19:15] gnarled roots sticking out of the ground.
[00:19:18] Trees are always a big deal for Lucas.
[00:19:20] We should probably avoid it.
[00:19:24] This is probably why nobody comes back.
[00:19:25] It's a fig tree.
[00:19:28] A fig tree?
[00:19:30] Is it dead?
[00:19:31] You said it incredibly gnarled roots.
[00:19:33] It's not dead.
[00:19:34] It just has a lot of-
[00:19:35] Like the roots are huge and sticking out of the ground
[00:19:38] and weird angles.
[00:19:40] Just loop to loop to loop to loop.
[00:19:44] I am circumventing the tree and heading northeast.
[00:19:50] I feel like not engaging the tree may be the right thing.
[00:19:54] Okay.
[00:19:58] You walk and you walk and you walk
[00:20:01] and you don't seem to find anything.
[00:20:04] Roll me-
[00:20:08] I'm gonna guess navigation is just under presence
[00:20:11] because it's like sighted and seen isn't it?
[00:20:13] So go roll me a presence.
[00:20:14] Whoever has the best presence can roll it for me.
[00:20:16] You all have the same presence.
[00:20:18] Neat. Go ahead and all roll it then.
[00:20:20] I got a 13.
[00:20:21] I got an 18.
[00:20:23] I've got an 8.
[00:20:25] He's not good.
[00:20:26] The 18.
[00:20:29] Not to not to not.
[00:20:30] You make a few turns.
[00:20:37] You find the remains of a stone well.
[00:20:42] Well what?
[00:20:44] Yep.
[00:20:48] A small shaft seems to descend into darkness.
[00:20:53] It's kind of narrow.
[00:20:54] As we discussed with Helga, it's not the size of the tool.
[00:21:01] Sure.
[00:21:01] So quit talking about my shaft.
[00:21:03] What's in the well?
[00:21:04] She left at it.
[00:21:06] Well...
[00:21:10] It goes down to the darkness.
[00:21:11] You don't see a bottom.
[00:21:14] Well you do the classic D&D thing of picking up a rock
[00:21:17] and throwing it down the well
[00:21:18] to alert all monsters that you're there.
[00:21:20] Certainly.
[00:21:22] And dead.
[00:21:24] After about...
[00:21:28] five seconds, which is a long time in a falling rock,
[00:21:31] you hear a clack clack clack clack.
[00:21:34] Did anybody bring rope?
[00:21:36] You don't hear a water splash.
[00:21:37] You hear a clack clack clack clack.
[00:21:39] Right.
[00:21:39] It's dry.
[00:21:43] That's a right.
[00:21:45] Useless well.
[00:21:48] Continue northeast.
[00:21:50] Say unless there is some sort of stairs,
[00:21:52] I don't think any of us have rope.
[00:21:55] I got a dinghy back there.
[00:21:57] You can continue northeast for hours, you find nothing.
[00:22:00] We reach the edge of the island?
[00:22:03] If you go for about a day and a half,
[00:22:05] you'll reach the edge of the island,
[00:22:06] but you're just in jungle at this point.
[00:22:08] Okay.
[00:22:11] Beginning to understand why they call it the Nameless Temple
[00:22:13] because it doesn't exist.
[00:22:19] Climb a tree?
[00:22:21] See if we can see it.
[00:22:27] Roll my presence.
[00:22:30] Everything's DR12 unless otherwise stated.
[00:22:32] 13 again.
[00:22:34] A hot number for me.
[00:22:36] 15.
[00:22:38] That one.
[00:22:39] Bummer, dude.
[00:22:40] You fall from the tree.
[00:22:42] You're dead.
[00:22:45] That's not a good amount of water.
[00:22:48] I play Raise the Dead once I get back down to the bottom.
[00:22:50] You can't find a tree to climb.
[00:22:53] There's a 13 and a what?
[00:22:54] What kind of forest has no tree to climb?
[00:22:57] The 15, you get a good distance up a nice tree.
[00:23:02] You see-
[00:23:03] I'm glad it's a nice tree.
[00:23:05] You see the well again.
[00:23:06] Could have been a not nice tree.
[00:23:08] You squint well enough that you can make out
[00:23:13] the same gnarled tree, but a little to the west.
[00:23:18] You do notice what looks to be like some rocks that have crumbled
[00:23:29] over a slight hill.
[00:23:31] I call down and say, hey, out west there's a thing.
[00:23:36] Is it more like a dry well thing or more like a creepy fig tree thing?
[00:23:41] It's rocks on a hill.
[00:23:43] That sounds like every temple I've ever heard of.
[00:23:47] Shall we go see?
[00:23:49] Well, either that or walk through the blasted jungle more in a random direction.
[00:23:55] Well, I know our captain's not the most energetic individual.
[00:24:05] What do you say, Cap?
[00:24:06] Sure.
[00:24:08] West, let's go.
[00:24:11] Roll me a D6.
[00:24:13] Who?
[00:24:14] Captain.
[00:24:17] Fo.
[00:24:18] Take you four hours to clear out all those rocks.
[00:24:22] Why are we clearing out rocks?
[00:24:24] Why are we clearing out?
[00:24:24] To find the entrance.
[00:24:25] Oh, well.
[00:24:27] You find an opening behind them.
[00:24:29] No wonder it's nameless.
[00:24:30] It's not even here anymore.
[00:24:33] It's just a hole in the ground.
[00:24:35] It's one of those coves.
[00:24:37] Behind them, behind it, you do see some stairs descending.
[00:24:40] It is dark after that.
[00:24:44] I have torches.
[00:24:46] I have candles.
[00:24:47] I have a grenade.
[00:24:49] Let's not use that.
[00:24:50] Which one do you want to light?
[00:24:52] No, no, they turn around.
[00:24:53] It's already lit.
[00:24:54] Oh, shit.
[00:24:55] Old school bomb.
[00:24:57] How long do you think that this candle will stay lit for?
[00:24:59] I paid a good penny for it.
[00:25:01] Depends on if you pull the wick out fast enough.
[00:25:07] Yeah, it's dark.
[00:25:08] I imagine one of you either let a candle or a torch.
[00:25:12] You descend said stairs.
[00:25:13] How long does your...
[00:25:15] How long does your candle last, did it say?
[00:25:18] An hour.
[00:25:19] An hour.
[00:25:19] Each one is an hour.
[00:25:20] He's got four of them.
[00:25:22] So we have four hours before we have to start using our torches?
[00:25:25] Yeah, but torches would put off more light and fairness.
[00:25:29] And?
[00:25:32] You come down to a bit of a landing.
[00:25:35] Not landing?
[00:25:37] Like, we've reached a landing.
[00:25:39] Is there a ladder?
[00:25:40] Is there a crevasse?
[00:25:41] Is there a course of angelic angels?
[00:25:44] From what you can tell...
[00:25:45] A balrog.
[00:25:47] Please, not the last one.
[00:25:49] It seems to continue forward.
[00:25:51] Roll me presents.
[00:25:54] So it's a trap and Lucas wants to see if we see it.
[00:25:56] 18.
[00:25:59] Also 18.
[00:26:00] Same.
[00:26:01] We are so present.
[00:26:02] Each of you do a three stuges thing and all stop at the same time.
[00:26:06] And notice that there is a pit trap that hasn't already been opened up.
[00:26:11] Inside said pit trap.
[00:26:16] You see...
[00:26:18] What number is that?
[00:26:21] Impaled on a spike.
[00:26:23] There's a skeleton wearing an eyepatch.
[00:26:25] You also see a cutlass, a flintlock and a bag of what would hold ammo.
[00:26:34] Loot.
[00:26:35] How far down is it?
[00:26:38] I'll say 10 feet.
[00:26:41] Based on this image.
[00:26:42] Can I reach it?
[00:26:43] You got rope?
[00:26:46] I have a bucket.
[00:26:49] It's your bucket on rope.
[00:26:51] Yes!
[00:26:52] There's vines outside.
[00:26:53] I can get rope.
[00:26:54] Give me a second.
[00:26:55] I'll be right back.
[00:26:58] You know what, I'll give that to you.
[00:26:59] You can make some rope out of vines.
[00:27:01] It'll take you a while.
[00:27:02] I don't even need to make a rope.
[00:27:04] I have a vine.
[00:27:05] It is a rope.
[00:27:09] In a thick luscious jungle?
[00:27:12] Yeah, I'm sure there are definitely...
[00:27:13] There's plenty of vines to make rope out of.
[00:27:15] But it's going to take a while to make them.
[00:27:16] Why do I need to make a rope?
[00:27:17] It's a vine.
[00:27:20] Are you...
[00:27:21] A vine this thick is the same as a rope this thick.
[00:27:23] Are you writing said bucket down goonie style?
[00:27:26] Or are you just scooping the dead thing that's already down to the vines?
[00:27:30] I think he's claw machining it.
[00:27:34] We spend an hour to make the rope to make the DM happy.
[00:27:37] Okay.
[00:27:38] Because he's not going to let me have that.
[00:27:42] You've learned wisely how games are played.
[00:27:45] Then I can just ask my teammates,
[00:27:47] hey can you hold on to this rope while I go down?
[00:27:50] Grab the stuff out the corpse.
[00:27:52] I lay on my belly and hold you by the arms,
[00:27:54] and when I lean over and you lean over you're only a foot from the bottom of the pit trap.
[00:27:58] You guys have strength roll.
[00:27:59] That too.
[00:28:00] I have plus one.
[00:28:02] All right Troy holds you because he actually has a bonus.
[00:28:04] I hold one arm and he holds the other.
[00:28:07] I was going to make you roll it if you both had zeros or less,
[00:28:10] but I'll give it to you with the strength one.
[00:28:12] I mean yeah that's true like literally you could just...
[00:28:14] You just kind of slowly...
[00:28:15] I still have a rope anyway.
[00:28:17] You were hovering over said pit trap with skeleton.
[00:28:20] I take the stuff off the skeleton.
[00:28:22] Does he have a hat?
[00:28:23] No he's got an eyepatch.
[00:28:24] Oh take that.
[00:28:26] I'm definitely taking the eyepatch.
[00:28:28] It's the flintlock, the cutlass and the ammo.
[00:28:31] Cutlass is very rusty.
[00:28:33] Flintlock does not appear to be functional.
[00:28:37] Is the ammo crap?
[00:28:38] Behind the eyepatch however you see a gem.
[00:28:42] I take that because it's cursed doesn't it?
[00:28:45] I take it anyway.
[00:28:47] I take the shiny.
[00:28:49] Punish me.
[00:28:50] I always take the shiny ask him.
[00:28:53] Thank you sir may I have another.
[00:28:55] Thank you sir may I have another.
[00:28:57] Give me the gem what's due to me.
[00:28:58] You've got the gem it's you have a gem.
[00:29:00] It's now in my pocket.
[00:29:02] It's worth a lot of money.
[00:29:05] Find anything interesting down there.
[00:29:08] An eyepatch.
[00:29:08] Mr. Flannel.
[00:29:09] A really cool eyepatch.
[00:29:10] Oh my.
[00:29:12] Do you want the eyepatch?
[00:29:13] Ugh there's a gem shaped impression on it that's weird.
[00:29:18] What kind of stupid pirate would have shoved a gem in his eye?
[00:29:21] There's no appraise role in this game.
[00:29:23] Presence seems to be like the thing you always roll in this game.
[00:29:25] That's the thing that you suggest always gets rolled.
[00:29:28] Why can't we roll an inagility roll?
[00:29:31] Because that has nothing to do with appraise.
[00:29:33] That's not true.
[00:29:34] Spirit.
[00:29:36] Back to the question about the ammo is it still useful?
[00:29:39] The ammo is useful but the flintlock itself is seized and old.
[00:29:44] He has a flintlock I can give him more ammo.
[00:29:47] You have three shots three extra shots.
[00:29:51] Okay I have 23 shots.
[00:29:54] Might as well take the flintlock and the cutlass.
[00:29:56] Yeah I just take it all up and then we decide what to do with them.
[00:29:59] Cool.
[00:30:00] I keep the gem in my pocket though until you tell me what it's worth.
[00:30:03] Perhaps perhaps the fear of tetanus will scare off the scurvy dogs.
[00:30:07] You do have a what appears to be about a 15 foot gap to get to the next
[00:30:12] end to the next area across from it.
[00:30:15] Well thank goodness I have that rope.
[00:30:17] Wait I'm in the bottom of the pit aren't I?
[00:30:21] Well I've thought if they pull you back up.
[00:30:22] I can just walk to the other end and send somebody else come with me.
[00:30:27] They would have just put you over the ledge and dragged you right back up where they were.
[00:30:32] They're not sling.
[00:30:33] You know what we are in though?
[00:30:34] A jungle.
[00:30:35] You know jungles also full of besides vines?
[00:30:38] Trees.
[00:30:38] Trees.
[00:30:40] Wood.
[00:30:41] You know who has an axe?
[00:30:43] This guy.
[00:30:44] Six hours it takes you to make a bridge.
[00:30:49] This bridge better be suspension style and fucking like at this point let's let's we need to sleep.
[00:30:57] You can cross it.
[00:30:58] Four or six hours I would say you can cross it.
[00:31:00] I hope that they can cross it for the next 50 years since we did it six hours.
[00:31:06] Should have been done in 20 minutes.
[00:31:09] Just chop down a tree and throw it across.
[00:31:13] We could just shimmy.
[00:31:16] And maybe multiple narrow logs that you've chopped down but
[00:31:21] it's taking you a while to get there and a good thing you got that broad axe.
[00:31:25] Boarding axe.
[00:31:26] That's true.
[00:31:28] Did you ever tell me how much that gem's worth?
[00:31:31] Roll presents.
[00:31:32] No just tell me how much worth.
[00:31:34] I don't want to.
[00:31:36] You can take it back to the marketplace and have it praised.
[00:31:39] I'll decide to do that eventually.
[00:31:42] Or maybe I won't.
[00:31:43] I don't know.
[00:31:44] Anyway.
[00:31:44] It's worth a lot more than you've ever had in your life that's for sure.
[00:31:48] And you can see you can look at it and tell that.
[00:31:50] It is shiny AF.
[00:31:52] I'll just keep it in my pocket for now and worry about it later.
[00:31:55] You cross over your bridge you do see a welcome back to Bychannel.
[00:31:59] Open doorway.
[00:32:02] At the end of the hallway appears to enter into some sort of chamber.
[00:32:12] As most doors do.
[00:32:13] Is there anything in this chamber?
[00:32:18] Stone tiles cracked moss covered ancient.
[00:32:21] Tree trunks and vines and stone doors north and south.
[00:32:26] There's a dark tunnel to the west.
[00:32:30] A stone door north.
[00:32:35] That appears to be barred shut from this side.
[00:32:39] Grenade.
[00:32:42] It's barred shut from this side.
[00:32:44] With rocks.
[00:32:45] Yeah it says.
[00:32:47] I'm literally reading you.
[00:32:48] It's rock shut.
[00:32:49] It's it's look this is the dungeon crawl so you're gonna get what I read you.
[00:32:52] Stone tiles cracked moss covered ancient symbology.
[00:32:56] That's the word I missed.
[00:32:57] Symbology.
[00:33:00] Tree trunks and vines comma stone doors which are north and south.
[00:33:05] Dark tunnels west.
[00:33:07] This are a dark tunnel west.
[00:33:11] And a stone door north that is barred shut from this side with rocks.
[00:33:20] So the thing blocking it is on our side if you want to remove it.
[00:33:23] Correct but we always go left so we're gonna turn left first.
[00:33:31] For you left will be north.
[00:33:32] So the barred door.
[00:33:35] That's a weird way to orient it Lucas but okay.
[00:33:38] No.
[00:33:39] Looking at the map you guys came in from the west side left is north.
[00:33:42] You just said something was to the west.
[00:33:44] The dark corridor to the west so if we came in.
[00:33:47] Which is what you guys just came through the way that was written.
[00:33:49] Okay.
[00:33:50] We came through the dark corridor.
[00:33:51] We came through the dark.
[00:33:52] We came from the west yeah.
[00:33:53] So to the east there's nothing there's a wall.
[00:33:56] Wall door door that door's barred.
[00:33:58] Yes so we have a choice of two doors.
[00:34:03] That are made of stone.
[00:34:03] Would you like me to look at the map of this?
[00:34:05] North and south.
[00:34:05] North.
[00:34:06] No there is a there is a it's not written in here but according to the map there is a
[00:34:11] door directly in front of you which will be the east.
[00:34:14] Is the east door open or closed?
[00:34:18] I would say closed because it's not even written in here.
[00:34:21] It's a photo.
[00:34:22] Yeah it's just it's yeah for some reason they didn't add that door.
[00:34:28] It's a door disguised as a wall.
[00:34:30] It's literally just a door you open it and there's a wall behind it.
[00:34:33] How very toony.
[00:34:35] So with the door to the north.
[00:34:38] That's the one that's barred by rocks.
[00:34:40] Yeah barred by rocks.
[00:34:41] Are we talking like lots of rocks or just three rocks?
[00:34:47] One giant aboulder.
[00:34:49] Roll away the stone Jesus type thing here.
[00:34:52] I would say it take an hour to clear it.
[00:34:55] And the other door is just a door.
[00:34:58] The door to the south and to the east are apparently just doors stone doors.
[00:35:03] Well apparently the door to the east isn't really a door.
[00:35:10] It's on there is a door there and there's a door written on here sorry man.
[00:35:13] It's an actual door.
[00:35:14] All right so we have two doors and a rock slide.
[00:35:19] Okay let's check the other doors first.
[00:35:22] North or south?
[00:35:23] East or south?
[00:35:27] No it's north or south.
[00:35:29] North or south east?
[00:35:31] North is blocked.
[00:35:32] Yes we don't want to do that one.
[00:35:34] Okay sorry sorry eastern south.
[00:35:36] Sorry pick one.
[00:35:39] Captain you're the lazy one.
[00:35:40] But you just said east doesn't go anywhere essentially because I didn't map it out.
[00:35:45] Open the east door.
[00:35:46] There's a door there it's just not written.
[00:35:47] Let's open the east door and see what happens.
[00:35:49] Is there a wall?
[00:35:49] It's just not written inside number four like it should be.
[00:35:52] I wanted to know if we're going to fall into a loony tears moment.
[00:35:54] Straight ahead to the east door.
[00:35:57] We open a door and smash into a wall.
[00:36:00] It is a stone door.
[00:36:03] Yep.
[00:36:03] Doesn't have a hinge.
[00:36:04] We just said that.
[00:36:08] I'm lighting the grenade.
[00:36:11] Just kill us now.
[00:36:14] I just pull my two mateys together and light the fuse and say our goodbyes.
[00:36:20] Save us the pain.
[00:36:23] East door that's not a door.
[00:36:26] So I was going to suggest the south door because it is a door.
[00:36:29] I want to know.
[00:36:31] When is a door?
[00:36:32] When you attempt to open this it does not move.
[00:36:38] So it is a wall.
[00:36:41] To the south.
[00:36:42] It's a wall with a knob attached to it.
[00:36:45] To the south it is then.
[00:36:52] So the south door then because the east door is a wall.
[00:36:56] It's a piss poor written, a piss poor drawn map is what the problem is.
[00:36:59] It shows a door on here that's not actually listed and doesn't matter when you go to the next page.
[00:37:05] What you're looking at is what it's kind of like a door that opens but opens to like a stone wall.
[00:37:17] Really what it is is an ornamental relief.
[00:37:21] Are we talking about the east door or the south door now?
[00:37:24] The eastern door.
[00:37:26] It is definitely shaped like a door.
[00:37:28] The way it's shaped on the way it's drawn on this map is shaped like a door.
[00:37:33] However, it literally goes nowhere.
[00:37:37] They wanted symmetry in the room.
[00:37:38] It's a dead end.
[00:37:39] To the south.
[00:37:40] It's a dead end.
[00:37:41] South.
[00:37:44] South.
[00:37:47] The stench is horrible.
[00:37:49] It is muddy and there are rodent carcasses, rats, possums, most of them half eaten.
[00:37:57] You do also notice one golden idol against the wall and mushrooms in the corners of this room.
[00:38:10] I turn right back around.
[00:38:14] Can we tell if there are like big bites being taken out of these rodents?
[00:38:19] Are they nibbled on smaller bites?
[00:38:24] Yes.
[00:38:25] I asked two questions, two different questions.
[00:38:31] I know you did.
[00:38:32] The answer is yes on both.
[00:38:34] Okay.
[00:38:34] Small bites, big bites, some as big as your head.
[00:38:38] Would you like to take the idol, Mr. Flannel?
[00:38:40] I know bad juju and I see it and I don't want that.
[00:38:44] He be lily-livered then I see.
[00:38:48] I've had it slimy.
[00:38:49] Hi.
[00:38:51] Inside this room you do see an open doorway to the west.
[00:38:57] Is it a real door?
[00:38:58] It's not a door.
[00:38:59] It's an open way.
[00:39:01] It's an open room beyond what is an open doorway.
[00:39:05] There's no actual door.
[00:39:05] You can block.
[00:39:06] Door frame, if you will.
[00:39:08] Do that.
[00:39:08] Open door frame.
[00:39:09] You do that wily coyote.
[00:39:13] I walk over towards the idol.
[00:39:18] Towards said idol?
[00:39:19] Yeah, is it on a pedestal that appears to be a button?
[00:39:23] How's your presence?
[00:39:26] It's a number.
[00:39:28] Roll it.
[00:39:29] Technically it's not.
[00:39:34] That's a gentleman's above average nine.
[00:39:38] What is your agility?
[00:39:40] I don't know, you tell me.
[00:39:43] Roll it.
[00:39:46] That's a ten.
[00:39:53] It's five damage, your character's dead.
[00:39:56] No, eat a dick.
[00:40:00] Technically he's not dead.
[00:40:03] He's dying.
[00:40:05] No, I'd be dead as shit.
[00:40:07] You hit a, you step on a tile that triggers a trap.
[00:40:15] Will you chill out?
[00:40:16] There are things that I would like to do.
[00:40:21] It's a agility to dodge, you missed it.
[00:40:23] Yeah, and there are things that I can still do.
[00:40:27] To find the right fucking page.
[00:40:30] There we go.
[00:40:34] I would like to use the
[00:40:39] What was the DR test on that?
[00:40:40] I guess it's 14.
[00:40:44] What did I roll?
[00:40:44] A nine.
[00:40:49] A nine on the presence.
[00:40:50] You got a ten.
[00:40:51] I got a ten.
[00:40:52] You got a ten on the, it's a 14 on agility to dodge it.
[00:40:56] Okay, so I needed a 14 to pass.
[00:41:00] I will use my devil's luck to lower that test by minus four.
[00:41:03] Okay.
[00:41:05] You spin out of the way just in time as darts
[00:41:10] hit the floor in front of you.
[00:41:16] Found the trap.
